How to Access

For those who want to read it, you can fill out this contribution form and select "Playtesting".

  • If you add an email address, a link to access the game will be emailed to you.
  • If you don't add an email address, but instead add a different method of contact, that's how we'll message you. Be sure to check our Discord DMs and similar tomorrow, as the message should come from me specifically (Spencer/Primarch).
  • If you don't add any contact info, we won't have a way to send you the game!

For now, we are narrowing who we share the game with to just those who fill out the form, but you are free to share the game freely with whoever you wish.

Designer Q&A Next Week

A bit after the game releases, Helena and myself (Spencer) will be streaming a question and answer session together.

  • The Q&A stream takes place at twitch.tv/dungeonworld2 on Tuesday, July 29 at 2pm EST / 11am PST - in almost exactly one week!
  • We'll be answering questions live on chat during the stream. If chat is busy, it'll be easier to notice questions by starting with Q, !Q or similar.
  • You can also send us questions in advance by filling out this form.
  • There will be a VOD of the session uploaded to Youtube later.

Dungeon World at Gen Con 2025

Dungeon World (1 and 2) will be at Gen Con at the end of this month! Alongside Luke and the Burning Wheel HQ team, I (Spencer) will be there for my first time ever at Gen Con! Here are the Dungeon World related things you can do there!

Play the Game

I will be running a few one-shots over the course of the convention called Banquet of the Sunken King. These will be 4 hours each on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 8pm. Additionally, an awesome volunteer will be running a one-shot on Saturday at 10am.

Each of the games are currently sold out, but there's no guarantee everyone will show up the day-of. If you want to play DW2 show up anyways! Even if we're actually full, we can provide you with a copy of the game and printouts to form a second game and play.

If you can't make those times, but want to play a game of DW2 anyways, try visiting the Indie Games on Demand area of Gen Con, where unscheduled, unticketed games are hosted constantly!

Visit the Booth

Between games and panels, I'll be spending much of the rest of my time at at the Burning Wheel HQ Booth 2708 where you can chat with me and discuss the game.

At the booth, you can also pick up a physical booklet of the DW2 Summer 2025 Edition, which is over 160 pages!

Attend the Panel

Hacking & Slashing Dungeon World is a panel on Saturday from 12:00-1:30pm where myself (Chasing Adventure, DW2), Trenton Kennedy (Grim World), and Jason Lutes (Perilous Wilds, Funnel World, Freebooters on the Frontier) will talk about our experiences "building on the shoulders of the same giant" and will answer fan questions.

Co-Design an Adventure

Instead of attending Gen Con in-person, Helena will host a simultaneous event in the DW+ Discord where community members can co-design a new Adventure Playbook alongside her. If you're interested in participating, let us know in the DW+ Discord. Further details of this event will be discussed and finalized there.
